Chestnut Post & Rail Fence

This 3-rail chestnut post and rail fence was made from wood coppiced and produced from the Sissinghurst Castle Estate. Currently most of our chestnut timber is being sourced from Roundhill Wood on the estate, which is managed by the National Trust warden Peter Dear. The wood is cut on a rotational system of coppice with standards.

The new fence replaces a previous chestnut post and rail fence that lasted nearly 30 years! We added stock wire netting to keep in the sheep.

We are now taking orders for all chestnut products and their installation, so please contact us if you would like a free estimate.
